Adriana Phillips

Dance & Movement Therapist (R-DMT)

Part of being a true healer is being courageous enough to be deeply curious about who my clients are. I am invested in knowing each of my clients for who they are in order to help them reach their highest potential. I deeply believe that my clients know themselves best; my goal is to help my clients become the best resource to themselves as they can.

My Mantra: “Dance is your pulse, your heartbeat, your breathing. It’s the rhythm of your life...” - Jacques d’Amboise

I am a vaccinated healer!

I was riddled with anxiety and felt an intense mind-body disconnect until I started moving my body intentionally everyday. I started choreographing dances and taking modern dance technique and improvisational courses in college and it transformed my mental health—I discovered the beautiful integration of the body and mind as well as what happens in one region affects the other. I went on to get my masters of science in dance/movement therapy at Sarah Lawrence College where I learned to understand the meaning of movement and its ability to help us heal.

My Social Impact:

I am manifesting to be the change I seek in the world by taking daily steps to become more self aware. Moving daily keeps me connected to myself and grounded to the present moment. By harnessing the connection between my mind and body, I am able to be kinder to myself, and in doing so, be more supportive to those around me.

My Services:

Dance/movement therapy is a discipline that involves the reciprocal relationship between the body and the mind; what goes on in one region simultaneously and inseparably affects the other. There are a myriad of ways in which dance/movement therapy can be done—I will work to figure out the best version for you. If verbal therapy is the most comfortable, don’t worry! We will still account for the body in our sessions by discussing body based techniques to do outside of therapy as well as acknowledging and understanding how your physical body connects to your mental health in and out of sessions.

I encourage a minimum of three sessions together in order to create lasting progress.
In our first session, we will begin with a chat about what brings you to dance/movement therapy, your goals, and how we will integrate movement into our therapeutic experiences together. You do not need to have any experience in dance to do dance/movement therapy. In dance/movement therapy, all movement, no matter how big or small, is dance.

I offer -
1. Individual Therapy:
